MALCOLM MCMICHAEL is a New Jersey / New York based dancer, teacher, and tarot reader. Raised in Jersey City, NJ, Malcolm graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Dance from Montclair State University. He has performed at venues such as The Joyce Theater, Jacob's Pillow, Judson Church, and The Kennedy Center amongst others. Malcolm has danced the works of Martha Graham as a member of Graham 2, Abdel Salaam, Andrea Miller, Christal Brown, Bill T. Jones, Earl Mosley, Jose Limon, and Stephen Shynes. Malcolm continued his collaboration with Shynes as the Assistant Director of "It's BiGGER Than Me: A Film on the Black Experience During the Pandemic" in 2020. Additionally, Malcolm teaches Horton, Contemporary, and Graham-based Modern classes at The Joffrey Ballet School, Concepts Dance Academy, Teens@Graham, and The School of Nimbus. He is currently a movement artist with INSPIRIT Dance Company, a freelance collaborator, and a happy vegan.
