MALCOLM MCMICHAEL is a New Jersey / New York based dance artist, teacher, and tarot reader. He graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Dance from Montclair State University, where he is an MFA Dance candidate (Class of 2026). Malcolm has performed at venues such as The Joyce Theater, Jacob's Pillow, Judson Church, New York Live Arts, and The Kennedy Center. He has danced the works of Martha Graham as a member of Graham 2, Christal Brown, Bill T. Jones, Earl Mosley, Jose Limon, and Stephen Shynes. Always one to love a good remix, Malcolm is known to blend various styles of movement, music, culture, history, and philosophy together to bring his imaginations to life. His creative credits include dance work "Door to the Cosmos" (performed and co-created w/ Imani Carter), Shyne's short film "It's BiGGER Than Me" (Asst. Director), and a contemporary work for Dancewave Youth Company 2. Malcolm is honored to lead classes in the Lester Horton Technique of Modern Dance. His teaching credits include The Joffrey Ballet School, Concepts Dance Academy, Dancewave, Teens@Graham, Ballet & Beyond NYC, and The Kent Place School. As a firm believer in lifelong learning, Malcolm holds a 200 HR Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga Certification, a passion for languages (at the moment, français!), and much more to come. He is currently a freelance artist and a happy vegan.
